Partnership with Hannah’s Children’s Homes during COVID-19 Crisis

Corona Virus partnership with Foster Agency

Hannah’s Children’s Homes is a private, non-profit  501 (c)(3) organization serving abused and neglected children throughout Los Angeles County since 1989.  Hannah’s began with residential homes and added a Foster Care division in 1990 and an Adoption Agency in 1994. They have cultivated a network of pre-vetted, caring foster families in Southern California, serving approximately100 foster children.

For Founder, Connie Franks, this is her life’s work.  It is her calling, one shared by her daughter Aaliyah Rajasingam. It is a cause-based, heart-centered family organization dedicated to protecting, supporting and strengthening other families that are dedicated to opening their homes to care for the least advantaged of our children locally.

They’re small, lean, local, practical and innovative. They are the type of local organization that we at the Wong Foundation are committed to supporting and to championing, here in our own backyard.

They are also adaptable.  Therefore, as we all manage our way through Month 2 of the Stay at Home order issued to California residents to save lives state-wide from the worldwide Corona Virus pandemic, Hannah’s has pivoted to offering its families items of urgent need, not tomorrow but today.

The Wong Foundation is supporting their short term top priority needs by sending them GNC Children’s Multi-vitamins, face masks and gloves. This is a critical need for them for protecting Hannah’s Social Workers as they fulfill their essential duties, house-to-house. We are continuing to work with them on additional needed supplies, including Masks and children’s Multi-vitamins.

As the situation evolves and as conditions change, we will work closely with Aaliyah to ensure that Hannah’s Children’s Homes has the support needed during this trying time. We are thankful for the work they are doing in our community, making it a better and more humane community.  And we are grateful for our new partnership with this dedicated and courageous group of first responders on the front lines here at home.
